A Living Will, also sometimes known as a Physician’s Directive, makes sure that your wishes with respect to end-of-life decisions. For your family it removes the stress of making difficult decisions for a loved one.

Even if the only thing you own is your home, no planning will result in the state deciding who will own it when you are gone. With a Will you can direct where your property will go, but you will have to go through probate. With a Trust your Trustee can handle matters without going to probate court.

Without planning the State will decide what to do with the things you have gathered during your lifetime. Your family, and others you care about, will have no say in the distribution.

With proper estate planning you can decide who will get your Estate; it can be charities or friends that you care about.
